GSA Services MAC Solicitation Updates

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) can get you best in value contracts through their technology purchasing programs. The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Program simplified the government procurement process by combining 24 schedules into a single contract. • Part 8 in the FAR defines whether or not a Contracting Officer can buy indefinite goods (IDIQ). The GSA MAS Schedule is an IDIQ, which holds the highest selling potential for your business.

Fact vs. Fiction: About the GSA Schedule

  1. The GSA Schedule is not the end all be all in government contracting. You don't need it to be successful, but it's a good start. It will give you an advantage but many companies have been successful without it. There are other Government-wide Acquisition Contract vehicles (GWACS) in the market. GSA Schedules is the only one with open enrollment year-round. Others are GSA 8a Stars, CIO-SP3, NASA SEWP, Alliant, etc.

  2. You do not need to hire us or a consultant to complete your GSA Schedule application. Go to eOffer.gsa.gov for more information. The benefit of working with us is the approval rate and expert knowledge of what works and what does not work. It takes about 60 hours to complete an application.

  3. Only apply for a GSA Schedule if you are serious about doing business with the Federal Government. It requires time and money to win a government contract. Expenses include:

  • Proposal writers ($2K - $10K per proposal)

  • Business Developers ($2K-$5K monthly)

  • A part-time contract manager ($1K - $2K)

  • HR Staffing (varies % of salary)

You can do these things in-house as well, but we do not want you to get a GSA Schedule if you are not ready to compete.
